Rotary Club of Patan, in collaboration with Heart Club Nepal, successfully organized an Essay Competition on Heart Health and Community Service for students of our RCP-PEEF supported schools at Tri-Padma School, Pulchowk, Lalitpur.
A total of 37 students from Grade 9 and Grade 10, representing RCP-PEEF supported schools, participated actively in the programme.
The competition encouraged students to reflect on important topics such as heart health, healthy lifestyle choices, prevention of heart diseases, and the role of community service in building a healthier society.
To ensure fair and confidential evaluation, the essays were collected using a code-number system. The evaluation, result declaration, certificates, and prizes will be completed in the next phase.
We sincerely thank Heart Club Nepal, Tri-Padma School, all participating schools, teachers, students, and Rotary Club of Patan members for their valuable support in making this programme successful.

With gratitude and respect, we close Rotary Year 2025–2026.
Yesterday, President Rtn. Khadak Singh Bisht conducted his final regular meeting as President of the Rotary Club of Patan and shared a beautiful reflection on a meaningful year of service, fellowship, partnership, and impact.
Under his leadership, the Club continued its proud legacy through programmes such as PEEF, KPAD, health camps and screenings, youth service, tree plantation, vocational recognition, blood donation, and humanitarian support. The year also included proud milestones — our 2,000th regular weekly meeting, recognition as a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club, strong partnerships, and meaningful support to communities in need.
On behalf of the incoming team, I sincerely thank Khadak ji, his Board, committee chairs, members, spouses, Rotaractors, Inner Wheel friends, partners, and the entire RCP family for making this Rotary year memorable and impactful.
As we move from “Unite for Good” to “Create Lasting Impact,” we carry forward the same spirit of service, fellowship, continuity, and togetherness.
Thank you, Khadak ji, for your leadership and contribution.
Together, we serve. Together, we inspire. Together, we create lasting impact.

Rotary Club of Patan — Executive Monthly Summary (February 2026)
February 2026 was a dynamic and impactful month for the Rotary Club of Patan, defined by strong fellowship, meaningful humanitarian action, active district engagement, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
A key highlight was the celebration of Rotary International’s 121st Anniversary on 23 February. Our club proudly participated in the District 3292 celebrations, where Rtn. Kedar B. Shrestha was recognized as one of the six senior-most Rotarians in the district. The program also reflected on Rotary’s global journey since 1905 and Rotary’s growth in Nepal since 2008.
February also marked a major humanitarian milestone with the club’s contribution of NPR 85,175 to support the rescue and rehabilitation of five trafficked Nepali children. Immediate pledges from members reached NPR 63,175, reflecting our strong solidarity and commitment to social responsibility.
Education and youth engagement remained central to our work. The club conducted an awareness program against child marriage and human trafficking at Siddhi Mangal School (an RCP-supported PEEF school). We also co-hosted an Inter-College Speech Competition and extended support to an upcoming Rotaract blood donation program.
Another enriching moment was the presentation “Diplomatic Journey – Part 1” by Rtn. Kedar B. Shrestha, highlighting Nepal’s early international diplomatic engagements and experiences at the United Nations.
Fellowship remained strong throughout the month, with regular happy news contributions, celebrations of member milestones, and consistent attendance. We continued to maintain transparency and discipline through regular sunshine fund collections and operational contributions.
February 2026 in summary:
✅ Strong alignment with Rotary values
✅ Active district and community engagement
✅ Timely humanitarian response
✅ Education and youth-focused outreach
✅ Transparent governance and financial discipline
February reinforced Rotary Club of Patan’s commitment to Service Above Self, while strengthening fellowship and enhancing our public image.

🌍 World Polio Day 2025 – A Story of Courage & Triumph 💜
On 27 October 2025, during our weekly meeting, the Rotary Club of Patan proudly commemorated World Polio Day – 24 October by honoring the resilience of those who turned challenges into strength.
Our guest speaker, Mr. Bharat B.C., Project Manager at ADSoN, shared his extraordinary life journey — from being affected by polio in childhood to becoming a national para-athlete, community leader, and inspiring advocate for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Born in a remote village in Jajarkot, Karnali Province, Mr. B.C. refused to let polio define him. His story is one of determination, perseverance, and achievement:
✨ From struggling student to topping his class in Grade 5
🏆 National topper in Grade 11 Nepali language
🥇 Gold medalist – Wheelchair race, 2017 Para Sports Camp (Japan)
💼 Now serving as Project Manager at ADSoN
🏠 Built his own home, has a loving family, and rides a 4-wheeler motorcycle
“Disability is not a weakness — it’s only a lack of support and opportunity,” shared Mr. B.C., inspiring everyone present.
During the session, Rtn. Gabriele Mallapaty updated members on Rotary’s global End Polio Now progress — with only Afghanistan and Pakistan still reporting a few cases.
Special thanks to Rtn. Maheswari Bisht Rawal, Rtn. Rabendra R. Pandey, and President Rtn. Khadak S. Bisht for organizing this impactful event and recognizing Mr. B.C. with a Token of Appreciation.
Together, we reaffirm our Rotary commitment to a world free from polio and full of opportunity for every individual. 💜

🌟 INCREDIBLE HEALTH MISSION TO WESTERN NEPAL - MAY 11-18, 2025 🌟
Friends, we're thrilled to share the amazing success of our recent health expedition that's changing lives in Nepal's remote communities!
🏥 WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED: Over 8 days, our dedicated team brought essential healthcare to areas where medical access is extremely limited:
- ✅ Health Screening Program: 13,896 children screened across 60 schools in Rukum West, Rukum East, and Salyan
- ✅ Medical Camp: 875 patients examined and treated in Jajarkot
- ✅ Free Healthcare: Rs. 5 Lakh worth of medicines distributed at no cost
- ✅ Life-Saving Detection: 21 RHD cases and 51 congenital heart disease cases identified
👥 WHO WE SERVED: Children and families in some of Nepal's most underserved communities who often travel days to reach basic healthcare.
🎯 IMMEDIATE IMPACT: 15 critical cases are now scheduled for life-saving surgery in Kathmandu. Early detection means these children have a fighting chance!
Our heartfelt gratitude to the team leader, Rtn. Prakash R. Regmi and our incredible partnership with the Nepal Heart Foundation. Local government support made this mission possible.
The best part? Our sustained efforts are working - we're seeing reduced RHD cases compared to previous years!
Share this post to spread awareness about the importance of rural healthcare access in Nepal! 🙏
