About PEEF
Transforming lives through education, one scholarship at a time
Since 1991, the Rotary Club of Patan has run the Prajapati Education Endowment Fund (PEEF), providing scholarships to children from low-income families in public schools across Lalitpur District. Students are selected at grade 7 on the basis of financial need, and scholarships cover grades 7 to 12.
PEEF is governed by its Management and Operational Policies, which keep the Trust Fund separate from the operational Programme Fund. RCP members and their families volunteer their time to select students and distribute scholarships directly in the schools, some of which can only be reached by four-wheel drive during the monsoon.

Our Programs
Comprehensive support for students at every level
Beyond the scholarship: PEEF connects school scholarships with further opportunities: KEEA recognises academic achievement, selected students may receive full scholarships at Ullens School, and GSSA supports eligible students in higher education. These opportunities have their own selection criteria; students do not necessarily progress through all of them. Read Bhawana’s journey →
Educational Scholarships
NRs 5,000 per student a year for grades 7–10 and NRs 7,000 for grades 11–12, plus a NRs 1,000 merit bonus for grade 7–10 students with a GPA of 2.81 or higher (70% or B+).
KEEA Excellence Awards
The Kamalmani Educational Excellence Award shares NRs 2,00,000 a year among ten PEEF students from ten schools with the highest Grade 9 marks. First prize is NRs 35,000.
Graduate Studies Support
Since 2018, the Graduate Studies Scholarship Award has supported top PEEF students in higher studies up to master’s level. Eight students received NRs 14,000 each in February 2026.
Ullens Partnership
Outstanding PEEF students can study grades 11–12 at Ullens School on full scholarships. The club mentored three such students in 2025-26.
School Development
Girls’ empowerment and menstrual hygiene training, Student Quality Circles, eye, dental and heart health camps, IT training for teachers, and cyber-safety awareness.
TEACH Initiative
Holistic support for four adopted PEEF schools under Rotary Nepal’s TEACH framework (Teacher Support, E-Learning, Adult Literacy, Child Development, Happy Schools). Read more →

Everything you need to know about PEEF
PEEF supports children from low-income families in participating public schools in Lalitpur District (24 schools in 2026). New recipients are selected at grade 7 on the basis of financial need, and scholarships cover grades 7 to 12.
PEEF is managed entirely by volunteers — Rotary Club of Patan members and their families — with no administrative costs charged to the fund. Donations support scholarships and school programmes, or build the permanent endowment whose income sustains future support. The fund is governed by its Management and Operational Policies.
While PEEF maintains a general fund for equitable distribution, donors can specify preferences for programs like KEEA Excellence Awards, Graduate Studies Support, or school development initiatives. Contact our PEEF committee for targeted support options or to sponsor specific educational programs.
Volunteers are welcome during the annual student selection and scholarship distribution in the participating schools. Both RCP members and community volunteers can contribute their time and skills. Email rwm@rotaryclubpatan.org.np to get involved.
Each year, RCP members and their families visit the participating schools to select new grade 7 recipients on the basis of financial need, and to distribute scholarships directly to students.

Support This Year’s Scholarships
Contributions to the Programme Fund pay for current scholarships, merit bonuses and support in PEEF schools. On the pledge form, choose “PEEF – This year’s scholarships”.
Build the Permanent Endowment
Contributions to the Trust Fund build PEEF’s permanent endowment. Income from the Trust Fund helps sustain scholarships in future years. On the pledge form, choose “PEEF – Permanent endowment”.
Contribute Your Skills
Help with the annual student selection and scholarship distribution, mentoring, or school support activities such as health camps and teacher training.
