    Prajapati Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) established

    Prajapati Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) established in 1991 is the club owned Flagship/Scholarship Project of the Rotary Club of Patan which serves 27 public schools in the Lalitpur district. One of the global grant projects is also implemented in PEEF supported schools to improve the WASH in these public school.

    Establishment of the Nepal Orthopedic Hospital

    NOH became operational since August 1998. What was it before? It was a concept, only a good concept! Nothing more! The concept was to build an adult 16 bedded hospital to complement the already existing children’s rehabilitation center. The concept was founded by the eminent leaders of the Nepal Disabled Association of the time and the Rotary Club of Patan and Jim Sinclair (USA)

    Kamalmani Educational Excellence Award (KEEA) established

    Kamalmani Educational Excellence Award (KEEA) to meritorious students receiving PEEF scholarships: The RCP established the ‘KEEA’ in 2013 with the initial sponsorship of late Rtn. Kamalmani Dixit. The award fund has since been expanded with annual support from several other members of the RCP. The KEEA currently recognizes top ten meritorious students in grade 9 from among the PEEF scholarship recipients with certificates and cash awards. The RCP held last year’s KEEA function on 18 September 2017 in the presence of headmasters of recipient schools, awardreceiving students and the RCP family.

    PEEF set up by the RCP crosses Rupees One Crore mark

    The Prajapati Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) set up by the Rotary Club of Patan has crossed rupees one crore mark with the latest donation of ten thousand dollars by US based Dr. Prabhu Parmar. Earlier also, Dr. Parmar had donated ten thousand dollars to the endowment fund.

    The PEEF project currently supports nearly 700 needy students of 29 schools in the Lalitpur district. Since 1991, 2,150 students – out of which 58% are girls – of 50 schools have benefited from this program. So far, 733 students have completed their 10th class after receiving financial support for five years ( from 6-10 grade). RC Patan will distribute 1.1 million rupees during the school year 2013-14. Fund for this project is generated from the interest of the Trust Account and annual contributions.

    RC Patan Team wins the ROTA QUIZ contest

    In a tight competition the RC Patan team, including Rtns. Preeti Khemka, Ganesh Shrestha and Gabriele Mallapaty won the ROTA QUIZ contest.

    Signing of MOU with Sarswati Govinda Foundation

    Mr. Govinda Das Shrestha, President of Sarswati Govinda Foundation and RC Patan President Rtn. Chandralekha Kayastha signed a Memorandum of Understanding wherein the Sarswati Govinda Foundation committed to contribute NRs. 10 Lakh (1 Million) every year to the PEEF scholarship programme of the RC Patan.

    This is the largest ever contribution by a Nepalese Foundation to a Rotary club project and will immediately increase the scholarships provided to some 400 students in 27 public schools of the Lalitpur District from NRs. 2,000 to NRs. 3,000 and an additional increase to merit students from NRs. 500 to NRs. 1,000. In addition, the programme, which currently supports students in grades 7 to 10, will be expanded progressively to grades 11 and 12 with NRs. 5,000 per student.
    The RC Patan also honored Mr. Govinda Das Shrestha with a ‘Paul Harris Fellow’ certificate and pin in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian services.
