Bagmati programme: 16–17 May 2026

On 16–17 May 2026, in partnership with the National Zoonoses and Food Hygiene Research Centre (NZFHRC) and local stakeholders, 86 community dogs in Bagmati Rural Municipality were sterilised, vaccinated against rabies, dewormed and given essential veterinary care before being returned to their communities. Community awareness on responsible dog ownership and rabies prevention complemented the veterinary work.

Earlier work

The programme began with an annual donation from the Dr. Mukti Narayan Praveena Foundation under a 2019 agreement. In 2020, working with Sneha’s Care, it vaccinated 2,111 dogs in Nakhu, Bhainsepati, Khokana and Bungamati. Read the 2021 story →
