Patient communication and helpdesk support at Ganga Lal Hospital
Activity date: 2024–25 pilot · Board support confirmed 27 June 2025
The Rotary Club of Patan joined a pilot initiative to improve communication, orientation and support for patients and caregivers at Shahid Ganga Lal National Heart Centre, especially people arriving from outside Kathmandu. A club committee formed in August 2024 included Rtns. Prakash R. Regmi, Rabendra R. Pandey and Mahendra S. Rawal.
The submitted activity report names Nepal Heart Foundation as lead partner, together with Mrigendra Samjhana Chikitsa Guthi and the hospital. It describes a one-year pilot budget of NPR 320,000 shared by four institutions, including an RCP commitment of NPR 80,000. The report records the establishment of a helpdesk and club visibility at the service point.
At the 27 June 2025 joint Board meeting, the club agreed to provide NPR 40,000 in that Rotary year and budget a further NPR 40,000 for the next year, referring to the MOU agreed with partners. The Board requested a status report for release of that year’s funds.
This story is dated to the verified Board milestone and covers the broader 2024–25 pilot. It does not assign an unverified opening date to the helpdesk or claim that committed funding had already been paid.
