Representatives at the portable echocardiography device handover to Nepal Heart Foundation

Portable echocardiography device handed to Nepal Heart Foundation

Activity date: 2 December 2024

On 2 December 2024, the Rotary Club of Patan formally handed a portable echocardiography device to the Nepal Heart Foundation. Dr. Prem Raj Baidya, NHF Vice President, received the equipment acquired under the RHD Global Grant Phase II partnership.

The handover supported continued outreach screening beyond grant completion, particularly for children and underserved communities in remote areas. NHF’s reported ambition was to expand its RHD work across all 77 districts by 2030.

The activity report also referenced the November 2024 Sindhupalchowk camp, where approximately 8,500 children were screened, 61 heart conditions identified and 18 children referred for surgery. The device was funded within the wider Global Grant project.
